EyeRoute on Board
and EyeRoute Mobile
Topcon Medical Systems, Inc. (Paramus, NJ), introduced EyeRoute on
Board and EyeRoute Mobile during the 2008 American Academy of
Ophthalmology annual meeting in Atlanta. These software applications
allow physicians to access diagnostic
images (ie, fundus photographs,
optical coherence tomography
scans, visual fields, and ultrasound
scans) stored on the EyeRoute Image
Management System from any PC or
3G-compatible handheld device.
Using the point-and-click interface,
physicians can view a patient's complete
record or compare images captured
during different evaluations.
mirao 52-e
Electromagnetic
Deformable Mirror
In retinal imaging, the mirao 52-e Electromagnetic Deformable Mirror
(Imagine Eyes, Orsay, France) enables physicians to improve both the
transverse and axial resolutions of optical coherence
tomography and confocal/multiphoton
microscopy. The mirao 52-e, which delivers
an optical quality of 0.01 μm root
mean square (RMS), allows users to correct
for aberrations and simulate the
effects of various aberrations on vision.
The mirao 52-e comes with a mirror unit,
electronic control unit, CD-ROM with the
application programming interface (API),
software tools that allow the user to verify system installation and operational
status, a file conversion utility (CSO-CASAO-HAS) for file sharing
with other Imagine Eyes software products, a demonstration program
that employs each of the API's commands, user documentation,
and connection cables. ■
