Integrity EMR for Eyes (Integrity Digital Solutions, LLC., Belton, TX) is an electronic medical records (EMR) software solution specifically designed for ophthalmology and optometry practices. According to company literature, customizable dashboards track all encounters, tasks, messages, and schedules and can be configured to fit each doctor or technician's unique requirements. The history function prompts the user to ask all relevant and appropriate questions for a given clinical scenario to document the patient's chief complaint and history of present illness. IntegriView is a fully integrated image management system for viewing, managing, and interpreting images imported from diagnostic equipment. The impression and plan function locates, selects, and modifies new diagnoses, and also imports previous impressions and plans, and enables sharing of information with other providers. Additionally, coding suggestions are automatically generated. Integrity EMR for Eyes is being delivered in a Softwareas- a-Service (SaaS) model to provide security, lower cost of entry, and faster implementation. The product will be available for purchase in the fall of 2010.

Eyemaginations, Inc. (Towson, MD), released Luma version 1.3, a patient-education–based software for eye care practitioners. The latest version includes 12 new and enhanced ocular presentation topics, including Amblyopia Overview and Treatment Options; Blepharitis Overview; Retinal Vein Occlusion Overview; Fundus Photography Overview; HD Lenses; Lattice Degeneration Overview; Multifocal IOL (General); Multifocal IOL (Design I and II); Optical Coherence Tomography; and Wide Angle Retinal Imaging. According to the company, new anatomy perspectives within the Exam Advisor feature allow the practitioner to use Blood Vessels, Visual Pathway, and Head–Front View as different angles. The Media Center navigation has been simplified, and content has been rearranged and renamed to be more intuitive. Also, the user has more control of functionality within the Media Player. Enhanced video controls and closed captions serve to improve the patient's visual experience. Lastly, practices can market premium products and services.
