The Pinnacle 360° (Synergetics USA, O'Fallon, MO) is a line of fully disposable instrumentation designed for use in retinal surgery. According to company literature, the Pinnacle 360° handle features a 360° actuation grip that allows the surgeon to approach the retina from any angle. It also provides the ability to reposition the instrument without leaving the eye and has the same tactile response from any location on the grip. The handle is available in 13 tip configurations, including Tano and Eckardt style forceps, scissors, and foreign body forceps. The instruments are color-coded by gauge size—20-, 23-, 25-, and 27-gauge—and are labeled by type. All tips are finished with a blackening process, leaving them virtually glare-free.
